| Abstract: | The main factors identified for the collapse of East-Asian economies were capital liberalization, deregulation of the control of the domestic financial systems, vast international inflows of financial assets, and the deep structure of domestic debt. Among these factors, capital liberalization without a framework of regulation was the root cause of their fall. |
