dc.description.abstract Indian business environment is facing rigorous challenges and fostering drastic changes under the new economic regime. The implication of economic reforms has altered the basic network of the economy and there is a persistent transformation in the business culture of the country. As an emerging market for the global business players, India is growing very fast. Currently, the markets in India are witnessing more and more alliances, joint ventures and networks. Irrespective of the size and scale of operations of the firms, it becomes inevitable for them to revamp and re-orient the business policies and practices in order to grow to be globally competitive. Competence, efficiency and uniqueness are the contemporary business mantras.
