dc.description.abstract This paper deals with as to whether recent strctural changes could have had an effect on the issue of gender in contemporary organizations. It discuses as to whether contemporary managers are making use of new forms of power and control to effectively manage their employees to meet external environmental demands and pressures in the form of recession and cut throat competition. The paper argues the need to undertake further empirical research to clarify and build the theory on learning organizations. en_US
